College Republicans join the war effort
The General salutes the University of North Carolina at Charlotte College Republicans who made their own contribution to the war effort a few weeks ago by camping out in the wilds of the college green. It took a lot of guts for these kids to brave the elements and the insects like their generational peers in Iraq, but many felt it was the least they could do. "We wanted to let our soldiers know that they have not been forgotten while they've been deployed,?" said Elizabeth Beck, UNCC College Republican president.
Although their parents were surely worried, these courageous students proved that privileged white kids could handle the rigors of outside living as well as any working class soldier--and they did it without incurring a single casualty.
Hopefully, now that they've rolled up their sleeping bags and returned to civilian life, these students will continue to help the war effort by blogging and organizing freeper actions. Like I said, it's the least they can do.
