Goodman, Schwerner and Chaney

I felt like I missed something after attending our state fair last week. Sure, I had my yearly emu burger and brick of fries, and I marveled at the 12 foot tall sculpture of Sacajawea made out of bartlett pears and fuji apples. And yes, I took pictures of my grandson petting a goat--he loves Our Leader. I even stopped by the Constitutional Party's booth to tell them I was praying that they'd lock up those three Alaskan electoral votes they're so excited about. But still, I felt like I missed something.

Today, I figured out what it was. We didn't have a booth sponsored by a white supremacist and a racist murderer. Mississippi has one. Yes, in spite of the outraged cries of outside agitators like the county sheriff and the Mississippi NAACP, Trent Lott family friend and Nationalist Movement Furhrer, Richard Barrett, will have a booth at this year's state fair. Pastor Edgar Ray Killen, the "Mississippi Burning" murderer, will be on hand to sign autographs and urge the God-fearing white fairgoers to show their racial pride by signing a petition to prevent a second trial for the killings.

You see, some people still care about tradition.
