Mr. Leno, are you now, or have you ever been, a liberal?

I'll be writing David Horowitz and Genesio Zenone about their Discover The Network enemies list later, but I think it's important that I quickly alert you to one the traitors they listed. Many of you watch The Tonight Show. Did you know that Jay Leno is an enemy of all the things we, as Americans, hold dear? According to his Discover The Network profile, he has repeatedly voiced subversive opinions. How can we allow such a man to appear on our airwaves?

Jay Leno is a stand-up comic and host of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," watched by approximately six million Americans every weeknight.

The political views of late-night comedians are no longer a laughing matter. In January 2004 a study released by the Pew Research Center found that 21 percent of 18-to-29-year-olds turn to comedy TV shows for their ?news? during political campaigns, as do eight percent of all Americans.

"I'm not conservative. I've never voted that way in my life," said Leno in a September 2004 interview with the left tabloid L.A. Weekly. Leno told its reporter Nikki Finke that he "really worries" about who President George W. Bush, if re-elected, would pick for U.S. Supreme Court vacancies. Leno said "the wool was pulled over our eyes" regarding the Iraq War.

Leno told the L.A. Weekly reporter that he used to read the socialist magazine Mother Jones. He told her that on his "Tonight Show" joke-writing team were several former Democratic candidate speechwriters but "No Republicans."

"Could it be," Finke opined, that Jay Leno is "really a closet lefty?"

Update: Kudos to Horowitz and Zenone for going after another generation of Rosenbergs.
