An Open Letter to the Rev. Lou Sheldon

Dear Rev. Sheldon,

During a recent broadcast of 'Today's Issues', you made the following statements:

". . . I've talked to many psychotherapists who are Christian, and they say once you enter into that lifestyle -- Now, you may have gender identity conflict -- that's the medical-scientific name for homosexuality -- where you're attracted to the same-sex person, but once you enter into the culture, into the music, into the gay bars, into the gay literature, into the gay theater, and all of that kind of -- and gay travel -- once you immerse yourself into that, you have really put yourself into a groove that only a sort of an exorcism can release you from."

Now that I've refreshed your memory, perhaps you can help me inform my readers about the dangers of gay travel and exactly what that entails? Are there certain places that one should avoid visiting? Preferred modes of transportation?

I think we all understand that Cher songs -- as well as all show tunes -- are obvious red flags of latent homosexuality. But I'm afraid that I and many others are completely unawares of the dangers of gay travel, and we certainly wouldn't wish to fall victim to homosexuality due to our ignorance. Going through an exorcism certainly wouldn't be any fun either.

Thank-you in advance for any advice and help you can offer.

Sincerely,

Desiree S.

Tip o' the hat to Eli of MultiMedium for the inspiration.
