College Republicans in Colorado didn't sit around and whine when a professor repeatedly committed thoughtcrimes in the classroom. They took responsibility for their own education by threatening the traitorous egghead.
A political-science professor at Metropolitan State College of Denver says she has been the target of death threats and hate e-mail in the wake of the recent debate over the academic bill of rights.
Professor Oneida Meranto and her lawyer said they turned over the threats to the FBI this month. They did so after getting what they considered an inadequate response from Metro officials to her plea for more security.
"Robust political debate is one thing," said Meranto's lawyer, J. Triplett MacIntosh. "Death threats are another."
Meranto, a Metro professor since 1993, became embroiled in a controversy late last year with student members of the Auraria College Republicans.

Since December, Meranto said she had received a slew of hate e-mail and threats that led her to worry about her personal safety.
One of the e-mails read: " . . . blow her (expletive) brains out . . . let's see who has the stomach for a blood bath."
