Powerline Blog
Dear Mr. Hinderaker,
Congratulations on being picked to participate in the Blogging, Journalism & Credibility conference at Harvard. It's about time that some of the bloggers who boldly and resolutely market Our Leader's policies to the public are recognized for the work they do.
I am a bit concerned, however, that America's enemies will use this as an opportunity to attack you. As you are surely aware, blogging and journalistic ethics discussions are dominating the pre-conference conversation at the event's official blog. Some might question the promotion of the Iraqi dinar at your site.
The ad you've chosen to run, Place a Bet on Iraq, touts the dinar's value as an investment. Unfortunately, many currency trading experts disagree--I've even heard the word "scam" associated with such trading. Of course, I know better, because you and the folks at Wizbang and mensnewsdaily have endorsed it by accepting the ad. I know that you wouldn't promote something that might leave your readers feeling cheated, and I'm guessing that much of the 234% markup (Bet on Iraq charges $40 for 25,000 dinar--that amount trades at $17.10 at this moment) goes into overhead costs.
In any event, given the good things that are happening in Iraq, I'm sure it's a fantastic investment. How many dinars do you own? I bet it's a lot given all the positive coverage you've given the war--surely you've put your money where your mouth is.
Heterosexually yours,
Gen. JC Christian, patriot
