Dear Kathleen,

The other day I was searching the Washington State Republican Website calendar to find some election-day “events” to participate in—you know, things like intimidation squads, ballot-stuffing brigades, GOTV bus-sabotage teams and the like. Instead I came across your announcement for the South Kitsap Republican Women Monthly Meeting scheduled for today. I hope your annual officer elections meeting goes well.

When I saw your schedule, I thought to myself, what better way to promote traditional Republican values than to hold your meetings on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon? The convenient morning schedule ensures that you get home on time to do a little vacuuming and mopping, and still have ample time to prepare a June Cleaveresque dinner for your husband and children.

Also, I think you have hit upon a sure-fire strategy to purge your organization of undesirables with radical ideas like pursuing a career, postponing marriage for higher education, or divorcing an abusive spouse. You and your group are to be commended for returning the traditions and values of the 1950s to the women of the GOP.

Your husband must be very proud.
