A Nov. 26 article in the District edition of Local Living incorrectly said a Public Enemy song declared 9/11 a joke. The song refers to 911, the emergency phone number.

I suggest shifting it to "0-0-0" like it is in Australia. ReplyDeleteWell, Sir, this just goes to prove that the Public Enemy are prophets, since the song was released in 1990.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I've always had this belief that 9/11 ocurred on, well, 9/11 largely because of additional impact of having it on the emergency number. The country didn't overreact because the country was hit by a horribly symbolic destruction of a building. It overeacted because it was an *emergency*!
