A few words about Dr. John Lott/Mary Rosh

Frankly, I don't see a problem. So John Lott posted defenses of his work under the name Mary Rosh. How many of us haven't created a fictional person in order to provide support for a claim. Heck, it's like when our great President, the leader of all the free world that doesn't include foreigners, backs up a claim about Iraq by citing secret reports which nobody is allowed to see. There's nothing wrong with that unless, of course, you hate America.

I mean really, who cares if Lott pretended to be a female former student when he/she asked the good people at The Free Republic to freep a site offering one of his papers for download. He was only trying to create the impression that he was an academic superstar. It's nothing more than marketing, and that, my friends, is what this great nation of ours is all about.

The thing that gets me the most upset about this controversy is that people are calling Dr. Lott a transvestite. That's just ridiculous. How many of us haven't pretended to be a woman while surfing the net. It's absolutely normal to call yourself Wendy Sue while you chat with some folks about Klinton's crimes on an irc channel like #hotbabes. I do it all the time...for research purposes. Really.

Don't listen to that sonofabitch Bobby Elmer. He's a damned liar.
