Storming the courthouse

As many of you know, a great American patriot, Sen. Dino "Environmental and Worker Safety Regulation Is For Pussies" Rossi, received 42 more votes than his opponent, Christine "Even My Name Sounds French" Gregoire in this year's Washington State gubernatorial race. Unfortunately, the Democrats are refusing to recognize Sen. Rossi's sweeping mandate. Instead, they are paying for a hand recount, arguing that a 42 vote difference in a 2.8 million vote race is so small that the a manual count is the only way to determine the will of the people.

So far, as the smaller, more patriotic counties finish their counts, Rossi has an 88 vote lead. That's likely to change when King County (Seattle area) completes its count. Indeed, many believe that the heavily French county will provide Gregoire with enough votes to win. The General believes that's very likely for a number of technical and legal reasons that would take too much space to explain here.

That's why the General was elated when he received an email from the National Rifle Association the other day. They're asking gun enthusiasts like myself to go to the counting center. It's a smart move. There's nothing more intimidating to a vote counter than a room full of gun nuts in camouflage. I suspect that the counters will think twice before they interpret a half filled oval as a vote for Gregoire.

I'm posting the email below so that the good God-fearing patriots who read my blog can sign up to help.

Subject: Volunteers Needed In King County, WA!
Date: Tue, 14 Dec 2004 13:17:20 -0500

Volunteers are still urgently needed in King County to assist with the recount for the Governor's race! The NRA endorsed gubernatorial candidate, Dino Rossi, after "winning" the Governor's race by 261 votes prevailed in the recount by 42 votes. Although he has now "won" twice, his opponent has asked for ANOTHER recount. Counties are in the process of recounting ballots at this time.

Volunteers are critically needed in King County, to spend a half-day to a day (or more if possible) sitting in the County Elections office and observing the recount to ensure that no mistakes are made. If you are available and willing to spend some
time on this important effort, please call Elliott Swaney at 800/228-4229. Tell him you are an NRA member and are calling to volunteer at the request of NRA. He will explain the process to you and provide you with instructions. Thank you very much for your help!
