A little Sunday patriotic music

I may be an 11 on the manly scale of absolute gender, but I'll admit it, this song always brings tears to my eyes. How can one not be touched by lyrics like this:
We must stop communism in that land
Or freedom will start slipping through our hands
and
I hope and pray someday the world will learn
That fires we don't put out will bigger burn
We must save freedom now at any cost
Or someday our own freedom will be lost

HELLO VIETNAM
Recorded by: Johnny Wright
Writer: Tom T. Hall

Kiss me goodbye and write me while I'm gone
Goodbye my sweetheart, Hello Vietnam.

America has heard the bugle call
And you know it involves us one and all
I don't suppose that war will ever end
There's fighting that will break us up again
Goodbye my darling, Hello Vietnam
A hill to take a battle to be won

Kiss me goodbye and write me while I'm gone
Goodbye my sweetheart, Hello Vietnam.

A ship is waiting for us at the dock
America has trouble to be stopped
We must stop communism in that land
Or freedom will start slipping through our hands
Goodbye my darling...

I hope and pray someday the world will learn
That fires we don't put out will bigger burn
We must save freedom now at any cost
Or someday our own freedom will be lost

Kiss me goodbye and write me while I'm gone
Goodbye my sweetheart, Hello Vietnam.

Fight Communism Contribute and help me fight those collectivist bastards who are trying to raise Donald Trump's taxes.

  2. General, Sir:

That is a moving tribute to MurKKKa's fightin' men--though I allus liked "The Fixin' To Die Rag" better.

  3. Why is it that the dirty goddam hippies who made America lose that war get credit for all the good songs about Vietnam when there's tunes like this out there? Although I was allus more partial to "Ballad of a Green Beret" myself. Luckily, none of those stinking peace freaks dare to sing out against our current glorious War$ for Freedom©®™ And we're going to WIN those wars, even the ones we haven't started yet, one of these years.

  4. Well, I guess it beats "Poland, How I Love Ya, How I Love Ya!" by A. Hitler, but only slightly.

We'll try dumping haloscan and see how it works.
